Noah Israel - Founder

Noah is a designer, builder, visionary and problem solver. His history of innovative engineering solutions, ability to intergrate sustainable systems and recognition of the profound need for supportive social/cultural community and neighborhood life has led to the development of Lake Armstrong Creek Development.

Development Experience: 

  • Lake Armstrong Creek Development - 80 acre sustainable rural cluster community.
  • Involved in developing numerous single family customs home site in Snohomish and Island Counties since 1985.
  • Partner in developing 300 acre community in Arlington, WA.
  • Project developer for 150 unit affordable housing site- Pacific Housing Group, Seattle.  Project site sold to URJ Group of NY.
  • Project manager for 80 home plat Infrastructure and panelized home project Kellogg Meadows in Marysville, WA.
  • Land management and development of fishing and logging operation on Central British Columbia Coast.
  • Lancaster California, developed phase-one 200 homes.
  • Set up project materials staging yard in Mojave, CA -20 homes packaged, staged and completed in 12 weeks.
  • Site evaluations and permit process for six 30-unit apartment clusters in the New Hampshire, Maine and Northeast Massachusetts area early 1970’s.

Building and Design Experience:

  • ISCO Construction and Services, Partner - Headed specialty projects section of the custom home construction division.
  • Truckload quantities of large specialty beams for Bill Gate's home for Sellen Construction.
  • Processed site originated beams, moldings, paneling, siding and specialty trim for nine buildings at the Environmental Learning Center on Bainbridge Island. 
  • Specialty moldings production for 1100 room Hilton Hotel.
  • 12 Homes on Queen Anne Hill mid to late 1970’s including joining two existing homes into 6000sq ft + valued and sold at over $3,000,000.
  • Designed and built 110 custom arched windows for Seattle Queen Anne Hill Home project. 
  • Finish work, stairs and cabinet installations in 100 home Belmark Homes Project of Maryville, WA.

 

 
 

Other Design Experience:

  • Prototyped Transportable Kiosk Based Retail Center - integrated NSF standard systems for mobile retail production of juicing operations Project Director of Redmond, WA "Juice on the Loose", and affiliate companay of TCBY "The Country's Best Yogurt" Company.
  • Prototyped Hydrogen Fuel Generator for Redmond based Wilson & Associates. Reduced weight of generator from 1100 lbs. to 50 lbs. Completed project in record time and radically low budget.
  • Designed and built large format computer controlled milling machine for automated production of timber framing components.

Other Project Experience:

  • Arlington Garlic and Music Festival -Special Projects 1989 –2003 include power generation and distribution system and Volunteer Kitchen building and management.
  • Son Power and Light - manager of electrical contracting and service company with a focus on schools, department stores, custom homes and service specialties.
  • Built 53’ Yacht in Quebec City, Canada Lived aboard for two years traveling along the  East coast and the Caribbean - 1973-1975.
  • Aware Wood Systems - developed and operated a 20,000 sq. ft. millworks operation focusing on specialty millworks, flooring and custom products for high-end custom homes.
  • Custom built computerized milling machine for cutting Timber frame joinery in large beams from board level.
  • DWELL Magazine project published in the April 2005 Prefabricated Homes issue.
  • Developed and Built 2800 sq. ft. Timber Frame home on Camano Island, Washington, including site prep, processing site generated materials using computerized joinery system.
