Ammishaddai Israel - graphics/communications

Ammishaddai was born and raised in Huntington, NY. She majored in music at Crane College of Music in Potsdam, NY and was accepted into Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Right before she transferred schools she had some profound awakening experiences that changed the course of her life. She understood that all the problems of the world, war, poverty, pollution, etc., were the products of human behavior and realized that the solutions lie in human behavior too. So, instead of going to Boston, she headed out to the pacific northwest in the summer of 1981 searching for like-minded people who felt as strongly as she did about coming together and really learning what it takes to get along with each other, working through our differences and taking care of our Earth along the way.

Shortly after she began her journey, Ammishaddai found a group of people in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and spent the next 24 years creating and living in an intentional community Arlington, WA. There she raised her five children and practiced many basic homesteading skills such as organic gardening, homeschooling her children and other children in the community, preserving food, pottery, and sewing. She began teaching herself graphic design in 1993 to fill a need in the community. She was one of the main producers of the annual Arlington Garlic and Music Festival that was

hosted by the community each summer and drew crowds of up to 15,000 over the weekend, handling all graphic needs as well as dealing with the vendors.

Currently, Ammishaddai is working with Godstream Technologies doing graphic and website design, assisting with communications and helping to conceptualize and develop Armstrong Creek Community .
